A small watercolour study created using references, imagination, and spontaneity.
The painting depicts a vast seascape under layers of frontal cloud, with varying shades of darkness that suggest imminent rain. The sea below glistens, mirroring the shift from a sunlit calm to the onset of brisk winds and the rise of waves.
The streaks of reflection were crafted using the dry brush technique, then further refined by delicately stripping away layers of paint with a scalpel.
