ABOUT THIS PAINTING

Inspired by Hokusai the renowned Japanese painter whose masterpiece “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” is housed in several collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

The study explores the characteristic shapes and forms within the spray of a breaking wave, though it is not a copy of The Great Wave and leans more towards realism.

The painting is elegantly presented against a white border and is set within a solid wood frame with a matte black finish.
