ABOUT THIS PAINTING

This loose watercolour sketch depicts a small group of figures walking down a narrow alley against the sun. Their long shadows and clothing suggest a chilly late afternoon or early morning with the golden light hinting at autumn. Among them, a dog walks with a confident strut, head held high and ears flopping — possibly a basset — a quiet nod to Max, the rather cheeky hound I had growing up.

Painted confidently and quickly (sketched) with expressive washes in warm and cool tones, the piece captures a fleeting moment in time.

The painting is presented against an off-white border and set within a wooden frame.

The painting comes with standard 2mm glass, with the option to upgrade to a UV acrylic screen for enhanced protection - learn more
