ABOUT THIS PAINTING

This watercolour depicts the humble fair-weather cumulus, or cumulus humilis, forming at 1,000 to 1,500 feet on a warm summer morning as rising thermals reach the condensation level.

The study focuses on simplicity, using minimal brushstrokes to capture the essence of a young cloud gently floating in the sky. Though it may appear effortless, achieving this balance of form, lightness and radiance requires both patience and practice.

This contemporary piece is elegantly presented against a white mount, encased in a solid wood frame with a white eggshell finish that perfectly complements the simplicity of the study.
