ABOUT THIS PAINTING

Asperitas clouds are rare and resemble a turbulent sea when viewed from below. The name “asperitas” is derived from the Latin word for “roughness”. In this semi-abstract study, I attempt to create a surreal atmosphere by using strategic brushstrokes to depict the layer of cloud as if viewed from below at an angle.

The piece features a limited palette of violet and grey, enhanced by a touch of iridescence near the bottom, where the horizon gently transitions into a sliver of daylight.

The contemporary piece is elegantly showcased with a white border and set within a solid wood frame finished in white eggshell.
