About the original artwork and prints
The original acrylic, painted in 2020, was acquired by an auction house in London for £2500. Due to popular demand, a limited edition of prints was released in 2023.
Inspiration was drawn from walks in the park and multiple photographic references, my own and online.
Under the sprawling branches of an old oak tree, a hare peers through the dense autumn mist. Wisps of fog, carrying the scent of morning dew, embrace the lush green carpet of grass. And the soft, diffused sunlight scattered by countless droplets of moisture adds a dreamlike atmosphere to the silent scene.
The A2 giclée, 39cm x 49cm, is very similar in size to the original acrylic painting which measures 41cm x 51cm.
Giclée
Giclée prints are highly esteemed and can be found in some of the world's most prestigious museums, art galleries and private art collections. They should be cherished and cared for just like an original piece of art. We strongly recommend purchasing giclée prints with the intention of framing them promptly to ensure optimal preservation. Given the delicate nature of the paint surface, even minimal handling can potentially damage the print. Therefore, it is advisable to entrust the handling to a professional framer. Additionally, it is important to note that all giclées have a natural tendency to curl. Prints at Schafernaker Art are sent flat in corrugated cardboard envelopes or boxes, and they are never rolled or sent in a tube. They are carefully protected in a cellophane sleeve and accompanied by a mountboard for added safety during shipping.
