About the original painting and print
Besides my fascination with weather, science, and art, my interests extend to fantasy and science fiction. How could I not be a fan of Spock from Star Trek? The portrayal of Leonard Nimoy's Spock is neither realism nor a caricature; it's somewhere in between, somewhat surreal and otherworldly, which is very fitting for a green-blooded Vulcan. I opted for blue hues in this piece as a nod to the chief science officer's blue uniform and the predominant colour in the Flag of the United Federation of Planets.
The print is an excellent reproduction of the larger original, 51x41cm. The satin finish is ideal for the dark colour palette, encompassing transparent ultramarine blues, azure, and black-blue.

Giclée
Giclée prints are highly esteemed and can be found in some of the world's most prestigious museums, art galleries, and private art collections. They should be cherished and cared for just like an original piece of art. We strongly recommend purchasing giclée prints with the intention of framing them promptly to ensure optimal preservation. Given the delicate nature of the paint surface, even minimal handling can potentially damage the print. Therefore, it is advisable to entrust the handling to a professional framer. Additionally, it is important to note that all giclées have a natural tendency to curl. Prints at Schafernaker Art are sent flat in corrugated cardboard envelopes or boxes, and they are never rolled or sent in a tube. They are carefully protected in a cellophane sleeve and accompanied by a mountboard for added safety during shipping.
