About the original artwork
The Church of Panagia Paraportiani in Mykonos Town is not only one of the most photographed churches in Mykonos but also in the world. My fascination with the interplay of white and blue hues is not confined to my realistic paintings, but also finds expression in my abstract works. The serene atmosphere of this place brings me a profound sense of calm, and it's not coincidental that I draw a connection between the whitewashed stone and clouds against a blue sky.
Inspiration was drawn from my travels in Mykonos in 2023.
This giclée shares similar dimensions with the original watercolour, measuring 26cm x 36cm.
Giclée
Giclée prints are highly esteemed and can be found in some of the world's most prestigious museums, art galleries and private art collections. They should be cherished and cared for just like an original piece of art. We strongly recommend purchasing giclée prints with the intention of framing them promptly to ensure optimal preservation. Given the delicate nature of the paint surface, even minimal handling can potentially damage the print. Therefore, it is advisable to entrust the handling to a professional framer. Additionally, it is important to note that all giclées have a natural tendency to curl. Prints at Schafernaker Art are sent flat in corrugated cardboard envelopes or boxes, and they are never rolled or sent in a tube. They are carefully protected in a cellophane sleeve and accompanied by a mountboard for added safety during shipping.
