Shipping
Canvases up to 75cm by 75cm are normally dispatched within two days via a 24 hour courier. If you have a preferred delivery date please get in touch via the enquiry form.

1. Style
What sort of artwork are you interested in? Is it abstract, impressionist or simply “painterly”. Perhaps it is something you have spotted on the website, or you have your own reference?
2. Custom size or standard size?
There are plenty of standard canvas sizes to choose from. However, bespoke canvases can be made to order for an additional cost.
3. Budget
It is good to include a budget in your enquiry. You can get feel for the current prices in the online store. Projects on a 10 by 14 inch canvas (approx. 25x36cm) typically start at £700.
4. Deposits
Not all projects require a deposit and each commission is discussed individually.
5. Timescales
This depends on the complexity of the project, but there is normally a waiting list.

Form enquiries
If you make an enquiry via the form, you should receive a reply within a few days, usually sooner. If there is no response please check your junk mail just in case.
Online store
Before you buy any art, make sure you are completely satisfied with the images you have seen in the item store description (including close-ups). You can request additional photographs (and videos) via the enquiry form. Some paintings require additional time for drying and varnishing and cannot be shipped immediately. An approximate release date will be indicated in the item description. If you are waiting for artwork for which you have already paid, and a problem occurs (e.g. during varnishing), you will be immediately notified via email and fully refunded.
Viewing art before you buy
Unfortunately, this is not currently an option.
Payments
Checkout payments in the online store can be made with major credit cards, PayPal and Apple Pay. Commissions may require an agreement with a deposit and a final payment via instant bank transfer (see “Commission guide”).
Payment in instalments
UK customers may get in touch via the enquiry form to discuss if a pricier painting can be reserved with its costs split over a short period.
UK shipping
Canvases up to 75cm in any dimension are normally dispatched within 48 hours for a flat fee of £40. If your paintings is likely to be delayed you will be notified via email. After dispatch, DHL guarantees a 24-hour delivery for UK customers (i.e. “by end of day” the following day). Larger canvases may require extra time for packing and an additional shipping fee - this will be highlighted in the item store description. All shipments are automatically insured for damage or loss during transit. If you have a preferred delivery date please send an email to art@schafernakerart.com with two “by end of day” options. Please check your junk mail if you are still waiting for a confirmation. It is strongly advised that extra large paintings (over 1 metre in any dimension) are collected in person or alternative delivery arrangements are made.
International shipping
Canvases up to 75cm in any dimension are normally dispatched within 48 hours for a flat fee of £60. Larger canvases may require extra time for packing and an additional shipping fee - this will be highlighted in the item store description. will be notified via email of your estimated delivery date and/or if your item is likely to be delayed. Please check your junk mail if you are still waiting for a confirmation. All shipments are automatically insured for damage or loss during transit.
Collection
Collecting artwork in person is usually not an option. However, get in touch via the enquiry form as exceptions can be made for certain paintings.
Packaging
Artwork is packaged with foam corner protectors, bubble wrap, double wall cardboard padding in a double wall cardboard box. The artwork is also fully insured for the duration of shipment.
Fixings
Paintings do not come framed unless specified. Art is shipped with D-rings and wire (i.e. ready to hang). This can be easily unscrewed for other types of framing later.
Damaged art
All shipments are automatically insured for damage or loss during transit. If you receive damaged art, please get in touch via art@schafernakerart.com. If it is clear that the damage occurred during shipment you will be offered a refund, a replica or a new commission.
Returns
Statutory return policies apply if you are unsatisfied with the artwork from the online store. The buyer must cover the cost of secure packaging and shipment with insurance to the vale of the artwork. A refund is made once unwanted artwork has been received and inspected (within 14 days). Returns and continued handling increases the risk of damage to art, even a lightly scuffed canvas cannot be refunded. Rules may differ for commissioned work. Make sure you are absolutely satisfied with all the risks before you decide to buy. Please get in touch via the enquiry form for more information.
