ABOUT THIS PAINTING

A vibrant interpretation of Emil Nolde’s 1930 painting “The Sea B” (right). Thunderclouds and the inference of lightning flashes over the sea. The 20th century German-Danish expressionist was known for his expressive choice of colours - luminous reds and yellows in otherwise sombre settings.

My fascination with the dynamic duo of orange and turquoise shines through in many of my works (below); from nature to portraiture. This echoes my deep interest in the clash between warm and cold air masses in meteorology—a force that ignites drama.
