ABOUT THIS PAINTING
Inspiration
This abstract painting displays a rich array of textures reminiscent of a tropical ocean floor as seen through the crystal-clear waters of a lagoon.
It utilises a vivid spectrum of blues; from light aquamarine at the shallow end to a darker ultramarine at the depths. The colour gradation is minimalist, yet it adds a sense of movement, evocative of water filtering through the rugged aquatic terrain.
The effect is pure and almost meditative.
The geology has been achieved by integrating various acrylic media with natural elements such as sand and crushed volcanic rock. The result is a three-dimensional effect of coral reefs that invites the viewer to explore the hidden mysteries of the sea.
Colour and light
The online image may not fully capture the vivid colour palette and luminosity of this abstract due to colour compression and the inherent limitations of electronic displays.
Colours, especially subtle variations, often appear differently across various browsers and applications as well as file formats.
