ABOUT THIS PAINTING

Inspiration

This abstract painting captures the turbulent energy characteristic of geological phenomena viewed from the vantage point of an aircraft.

A fissure of magma emerges within the shallow waters of a tropical sea.

Vibrant pinks, browns and burnt siennas stream across the canvas, gradually giving way to turquoise and blue of the deeper ocean. The intermingling colours symbolise heat, chemical reactions and movement of the Earth’s crust transformed by tectonic forces.

A textured floater frame in off-white elegantly complements this abstract artwork.

Photographs have been taken in varying lighting conditions.

Colour and light

The online image may not fully capture the vivid colour palette and luminosity of this abstract due to file compression and limitations of electronic displays.

Colours, especially subtle variations, often appear differently across various browsers and applications as well as file formats. Consequently, the blues, greens and the neon pinks might seem less intense than they truly are. For a more accurate impression, it's beneficial to view the artwork on different devices and settings, keeping in mind that the physical piece has a richness that surpasses its digital portrayal.

The artwork's appearance varies with the ambient light, affected by the time of day and weather conditions. It shines brightly in well-lit spaces and appears more subdued in dim conditions. Ideally, it should be displayed on a bright, white wall in a minimalist, contemporary environment.

Tip: All images have been post-processed on iMac (M3) to match the actual colours of the artwork as accurately as possible. Viewing the photos on an Apple device may most closely resemble reality.
